Release Eritrea warmly welcomes a recent move by the Association of Eritrean Churches in North America, to highlight their concerns regarding the atrocities being waged against their fellow believers in Eritrea. In a letter to President Isaias Afworki ten member churches of the association, from across the US and Canada, detailed their concern over the continued harassment, detention and subjugation of Eritrean Christians.

Release Eritrea extends it solidarity and support for the initiative and would like to use this opportunity to assure the brethren in North America that the organisation is willing to provide assistance and support through its affiliates in the US.

In a statement welcoming the united action Dr. Berhane Asmelash— coordinator of release Eritrea spoke about the importance of a strong and united appeal from Eritrean Christians, stating ; ‘we at Release Eritrea are very aware of the intricacies involved in mustering such an initiative and the courage it takes to effect it, we are very encouraged by your actions and I am sure our brothers and sisters in Eritrea would too, thank you and may God Bless you’. Dr Asmelash also said that he has been praying that Eritreans from across the world would take such a stand for justice and would continue to pray and encourage others to follow suit.
